Vince Staples: Prima Donna [Blacksmith/ARTium/Def Jam]

Banks & Steelz: Anything But Words [Warner Bros.]

Banks & Steelz is the new project of Wu-Tang Clan head RZA and Interpol frontman Paul Banks. Their debut album, Anything But Words, has contributions from Florence Welch, Ghostface Killah, and more. Ahead of the album, the duo shared a slew of tracks: “Giant,” “Love + War,” “Speedway Sonora,” and the Kool Keith-featuring “Sword in the Stone.” Read our interview with RZA and Banks.

Prophets of Rage: The Party’s Over [Caroline]

The Party’s Over is the debut EP from Prophets of Rage—the supergroup featuring members of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy, and Cypress Hill. The EP is led by the single “Prophets of Rage” (a reinterpretation of the Public Enemy song from which the group takes their name), “No Sleep Til Cleveland” (a live recording of their Republican National Convention-inspired interpretation of Beastie Boys’ “No Sleep Till Brooklyn”), and the title track.

De La Soul: and the Anonymous Nobody… [AOI]

De La Soul’s and the Anonymous Nobody… is their first studio LP since 2004’s The Grind Date. The album was funded on Kickstarter and preceded by an EP, For Your Pain & Suffering. The record features David Byrne, Usher, Pete Rock, Roc Marciano, Estelle, Damon Albarn, David Byrne, 2 Chainz, Little Dragon, and more. It’s led by the tracks “Greyhounds,” “Royalty Capes,” “Pain,” and “Drawn.”

Young Thug: No, My Name is JEFFERY [300 Entertainment/Atlantic]

Young Thug’s new mixtape, No, My Name Is JEFFERY, features songs named after Thug’s “idols” (like Rihanna, Gucci Mane, and Harambe). It includes the previously shared song “JOHN,” now called “Pop Man.” The amazing cover artwork (shot by Garfield Larmond) features Thug in a ruffled purple dress.

Cass McCombs: Mangy Love [Anti-]

After releasing a rarities compilation called A Folk Set Apart last year, Cass McCombs has released a new album called Mangy Love. The album is produced by Rob Schnapf and Dan Horne, and it features contributions from Angel Olsen and Blake Mills. It’s led by the track “Opposite House” (which features Olsen) and the video for “Medusa’s Outhouse,” which was shot on a porn set and contains nudity.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of E•MO•TION, Carly Rae Jepsen has released an eight-song project of its b-sides.

Junior Boys: Kiss Me All Night EP [City Slang]

The Junior Boys’ new EP follows their album Big Black Coat, which was released earlier this year. It’s a four-track offering led by the song “Yes.” The EP also includes a cover of John Martyn’s “Some People Are Crazy.”

Porches: Water [Domino]

Porches’ new Water EP follows the album Pool, which was released earlier this year. It’s made up of stripped-down versions of Pool songs, as well as some unreleased songs. It’s led by a video for “Black Dress,” which features Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes dancing in a studio.
