A Tribe Called Quest Have the No. 1 Album in America
A Tribe Called Quest’s sixth studio album We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service has reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, Billboard reports. The album sold 135,000 in equivalent album units with 112,000 of those in traditional album sales. Tribe’s last No. 1 album was 1996’s Beats, Rhymes And Life. Today is the late Phife Dawg’s birthday.
Yesterday, Tribe unveiled the New York City street sign named in Phife’s honor. On Friday, Tribe released the music video for “We the People…,” and earlier this month, they performed on “Saturday Night Live.” In a recent interview, Q-Tip talked about the possibility of a world tour behind their latest album.
