Beyoncé’s Lemonade Gets Four Emmy Nominations

Beyoncé’s “visual album” Lemonade has earned four Emmy nominations. The hour-long special, which aired on HBO in April, was nominated for Outstanding Variety Special, as well as Outstanding Production Design For A Variety, Nonfiction, Event Or Award Special, Outstanding Directing For A Variety Special, and Outstanding Picture Editing For Variety Programming. Beyoncé, herself, got the nod for Outstanding Director, along with co-director Kahlil Joseph. See the rest of the nominations here.

Lemonade will go up against “Adele Live in New York City” and the 58th Grammy Awards in the Outstanding Directing category. “Adele” received four total nominations, including Outstanding Variety Special (like Lemonade).

Aziz Ansari’s Netflix TV series “Master of None” earned four nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series. Ansari has been nominated for directing, writing, and acting on the show.
