Beyoncé’s Lemonade Shut Out at 2016 Emmys

Beyoncé’s Lemonade visual album was nominated for four Emmys. Last week, it was revealed that Lemonade lost in three of those four categories. Tonight at the Primetime Emmys, Beyoncé was shut out altogether when Thomas Kail & Alex Rudzinski won Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for Grease: Live! Other nominees included Adele Live in New York City, the 58th Grammy Awards, Amy Schumer’s HBO special, and the Kennedy Center Honors.

Beyoncé was also nominated for Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming, or Outstanding Variety Special.
