Björk’s Vulnicura is Now on Spotify

Björk‘s latest album Vulnicura is now available on Spotify. Back in February, Björk said she was pointedly keeping the album off the streaming service. In particular, she called it “insane” to work on something for “two or three years” only to release it for free.

“It’s not about the money; it’s about respect, you know?” she said. “Respect for the craft and the amount of work you put into it. But maybe Netflix is a good model. You go first to the cinema and after a while it will come on ­Netflix. Maybe that’s the way to go with streaming. It’s first physical and then maybe you can stream it later.”

Pitchfork has reached out to Björk’s camp for a statement. Vulnicura is also available for streaming on Apple Music and Google Play, but not Tidal.
