Bonnaroo Taps Kamasi Washington, Miguel, Devonté Hynes, the Internet, More for Superjam

Each year at Bonnaroo, a variety of artists come together for a collaborative performance called SuperJam. This year, organizers are honoring the festival’s home state (as well as its 15th anniversary) with a SuperJam titled “Heart, Soul & Spirit: A Tribute to Tennessee.” Kamasi Washington has been tapped as the musical director for the performance, which will also feature Miguel, Blood Orange’s Devonté Hynes, the Internet, Lizzo, GRiZ, and more. View the tentative lineup in the poster below; organizers will unveil additional SuperJam participants as the festival approaches. Bonnaroo 2016 takes place June 9-12 in Manchester, Tennessee.

Organizers have also unveiled the lineup for the Bluegrass Situation, described in a press release as “SuperJam’s country cousin.” Hosted by “The Office” actor Ed Helms and the Watkins Family Hour House Band, it’ll see Lee Ann Womack, Buddy Miller, Amanda Shires, and others coming together for a collaborative country performance. “I’m so excited and honored to lead this year’s SuperJam,” Washington said in a press release. “Such a cool experience to collaborate with all of these amazing artists in celebration of some of the greatest music legends from Tennessee, at one of the coolest festivals in the country—it’s going to be a crazy party!”

Last year’s SuperJam featured appearances from Chance the Rapper, Jon Hamm & Zach Galifianakis (who led the crowd in “We Are the World”), SZA, Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff, Jamie Lidell, DMC, Corey Feldman, Reggie Watts, and Metallica’s Rob Trujillo.
