Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen recently swung by the Rachel Ray Show to make “Birds in the Nest”, an egg-filled take on grilled cheese. As expected, it played out almost like one of the duo’s Portlandia skits: Armisen senses the time crunch of recording for live television, and says “I have a very slow story to tell you first” when asked to crack an egg. (“In Portland they put eggs on everything,” he adds.) Brownstein, meanwhile, needs help using a cookie-cutter. Watch the video here.
Carrie Brownstein and the rest of Sleater-Kinney will release their new album No Cities to Love on January 20 in the U.S. and January 19 internationally via Sub Pop.
