Chance the Rapper and Kaytranada Have Another Song Together

Tonight during a sound check for his upcoming Magnificent Coloring Day festival in Chicago, Chance the Rapper took to Twitter to answer questions from fans. In the Q&A, he revealed that “They Say,” a song he’s performed live in the past, was produced by Kaytranada and was originally set to appear on his mixtape, Coloring Book. “So, ‘They Say’ will be released for sure,” he said. “I gave it to my homie who produced it, Kaytra. Kaytranada produced it a minute ago for the third mixtape in its early stages, and he’s gonna release it soon, I think.” Kaytranada also produced Coloring Book’s “All Night.”

In another clip, Chance said that some songs—like his Muhammad Ali tribute at the ESPYs, the alternate version of “Sunday Candy” he performed on “Saturday Night Live,” and his Nike song for the Olympics “We the People”—may never be released or even recorded: “A lot of those special TV moments will just live as those moments.” Chance also revealed Lil Wayne was his favorite rapper by rapping the opening bars of “Lighting Up My (La La La).”

Earlier this week, Kaytranada was awarded the Polaris Prize for his album, 99.9%, beating out Grimes, Carly Rae Jepsen, and more. He then released a companion mixtape called 0.001%.
