Dâm-Funk Announces DJ-Kicks Mix
Dâm-Funk has announced his entry into the DJ-Kicks series. The 19-track mix will be released May 27. A limited 10″ single featuring Index’s “Starlight (The Break)” and Verticle Lines’ “Theme From Beach Boy”—is also being released. Check out the mix’s tracklist and artwork below. It includes an exclusive track by Dâm, “Believer.”
Referring to his “modern-funk” neologism in a press release, he said, “Modern-Funk is a combination of all the sounds on the mix: Funk, Boogie, Electro, House, Modern-Soul, Ambient tones… a push and pull of nostalgia and progressiveness…”
