David Bowie's The Man Who Fell To Earth Coming to Theaters Again

The Man Who Fell To Earth, Nicolas Roeg and David Bowie‘s seminal science fiction film, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Originally released in 1976, the film was Bowie’s first starring cinematic role. He played an alien named Thomas Jerome Newtown, who comes to Earth to bring water back to his drought stricken world. To mark the 40th anniversary, a 4k restoration of the film will debut in cinemas throughout England on September 9, via the film distributor Park Circus. The restoration, done by STUDIOCANAL, has been in development since late 2015. STUDIOCANAL will also release the restored film on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on October 10. Forthcoming releases of the film are expected in US and Germany as well. Find more information here.
