Devonté Hynes’ Sky Ferreira and Britney Spears Demos Leak

Today, a bunch of material by Devonté Hynes, aka Blood Orange, leaked on the internet, Stereogum reports. There’s his original version of Sky Ferreira‘s “Everything Is Embarrassing” (above) and two demos which were reportedly rejected by Britney Spears (below).

Last year, Ferreira revealed to The Fader that it frustrated her to hear that Hynes was performing the song in his live sets and introducing it by saying he wrote the song for her. “My music is precious to me even though I don’t completely do it myself,” she said, explaining that she rewrites material. In Hynes’ original version, there are slight differences in melody and the lyrics. Otherwise, the base of the song sounds similar.
