Eric B. & Rakim Reunite, Tease Tour

Eric B. & Rakim have announced they are reuniting. Throughout the week, the group’s Twitter page shared a series of messages letting fans know they are plotting their comeback. “Preparations are under way for [Eric B. & Rakim’s] return. It’s been a long time,” the group said earlier today. The hip hop duo initially broke up in 1993 following the release of 1992’s Don’t Sweat the Technique. Since then, both have released solo albums in the last 23 years. Rakim’s last solo album was 2009’s The Seventh Seal

In addition to announcing their reunion, the group teased a new tour, and discussed this year’s election cycle, offering Eric B. as a potential presidential candidate, “because our Great Country deserves a POTUS who can MOVE THE CROWD.” You can find their tweets below. Eric B. & Rakim are also planning on reissuing all four of their studio albums and shooting new music videos for songs like “I Ain’t No Joke” and “Paid in Full,” according to Rolling Stone.
