Father John Misty Is No Longer on Twitter or Instagram

Singer-songwriter and social-media sage Father John Misty, aka Josh Tillman, is no longer on Twitter or Instagram, as Stereogum points out. The man who turned staring at his phone into an Instagram art project, and subsequently topped Pitchfork’s “30 Artists to Follow on Social Media,” appears to have switched off the accounts overnight, though his Facebook and Snapchat remain in place. This year on social media, Misty has beefed with Strand of Oaks over a divisive festival set, shared his “official lyrics” to the “House of Cards” theme, and claimed responsibility for a crystal theft from a juice bar. In recent days, Tillman had been posting the same in-the-studio video over and over again to Instagram, with various pseudo-philosophical captions. Pitchfork has reached out to his representatives for comment.
