Flying Lotus Casts Hannibal Buress, Tim Heidecker in New Movie Kuso
Flying Lotus continues to flesh out his debut feature film Kuso. The movie, which is the full version of his short film Royal, features George Clinton, and FlyLo has said he wants Elijah Wood and Craig Robinson in the cast. Now, he’s revealed that Hannibal Buress, Tim Heidecker (of Tim & Eric), and Donnell Rawlings (a regular on “Chappelle Show”) are in Kuso. Heidecker, he said, “plays the creepiest character he’s played thus far.” See FlyLo’s latest update tweets below.
Tomorrow, Royal will screen in the UK for the first time. It’s playing at London’s Regent Street Cinema. After the premiere, Brainfeeder Films will host an event at Phonox with DJ sets from FlyLo, Jameszoo, and Iglooghost. Find more details here.
FlyLo has said, “The idea behind Kuso is a simple one. It’s pretty much everything I’m afraid of.” In August, he had said it was “about 65 percent finished.” Today, he has indicated that it is “almost done now!” The movie is set to feature new music from Captain Murphy (his rap alter ego), Aphex Twin, Thundercat, and Akira Yamoaka. Eddie Alcazar, who collaborated with Flying Lotus on the short film FUCKKKYOUUU, will produce Kuso.
