Jack White Denies Involvement With Newly Announced Biography

Today, the Overlook Press announced it will release the Jack White biography Citizen Jack: How Jack White Built an Empire From the Blues on October 4, as NME points out. Written by Nick Hasted, it is billed as “the only book yet to tell the full story of the 21st century’s most influential rock star.” The book also promises interviews with “people close to White,” such as Neil Young and Seasick Steve–both of whom have releases on White’s Third Man Records–and Brendan Benson of the Raconteurs. Third Man, however, has denied any involvement with the biography from the label or Jack White. In a tweet sent out this afternoon, the label wrote, “Neither Jack White nor TMR has approved this biography. No one Jack is personally acquainted w/ contributed.” See it below.

Pitchfork has reached out to Jack White and Third Man’s reps for more information.
