James Ferraro Charging $9.11 for New Piece Fanfare for the Boston Marathon 2017

Experimental artist James Ferraro has released a new piece called Fanfare for the Boston Marathon 2017. (The 121st marathon took place this morning.) The 13-minute composition follows 2016’s Burning Prius ® and Human Story 3. It’s available on Ferraro’s Bandcamp, where he is charging $9.11 for it. Ferraro told Pitchfork that he chose that particular price “to symbolize the significance of the marathon as part of a larger sociopolitical complex known as The Global War on Terror after 2013.”
