Jay Electronica Encourages Fans to “Collapse” Made in America Stage, Police Intervene

Yesterday, police intervened during Jay Electronica’s set at the Made in America Fest in Philadelphia. The rapper invited fans to rush the stage. “If you’re scared stay down there. If you’re not scared, come up here with me,” he told the crowd. “Let’s try to collapse this motherfucking stage. Let’s try to tear this bitch down.” There’s footage of the incident below. The Philadelphia Police told NBC10 that “more than 1,000 people rushed” the stage. The police were called after the concert’s security were not able to quell the crowd. No arrests were made.

One fan told The Philadelphia Inquirer that this happened after hometown rapper Lil Uzi Vert, who had performed earlier in the day, walked by and diverted attention from Jay Electronica’s performance
