Kanye to Receive Video Vanguard Award at VMAs

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on Sunday, August 30 in Los Angeles, airing live on MTV at 9 p.m. Eastern/Pacific. Today, the network announced this year’s recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, its greatest honor: Kanye West.
Yeezy joins past Video Vanguard recipients as Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Beastie Boys, Britney Spears, Madonna, and of course, Michael Jackson. Below, check out a promotional spot for West’s award, and relive his performance of “Blood on the Leaves” from the 2013 VMAs.
The Weeknd will also perform at this year’s VMAs, which will be hosted by Miley Cyrus.
