In other Kendrick news, DJ Khaled popped up on Power 106′s The Cruz Show to claim the two are working on a collaboration, as Complex points out. “I am talking to Kendrick Lamar about an anthem that I want him on,” Khaled said. “Me and Kendrick been talking about it. I’ve seen him a few times since I’ve been out here. I’ve been staying in touch with Top Dawg.” Watch video of his comments below at the nine-minute mark.

Additionally, Parliament/Funkadelic‘s George Clinton, who appeared on To Pimp A Butterfly, recently talked about Kendrick during an interview with Pigeons and Planes. In addition to comparing the rapper to Sly Stone and Prince, he revealed that there are still two or three unreleased collaborations between the two (“I don’t know what’s going to happen to them”), and that a video’s in the works for the remix of the Funkadelic single “Ain’t That Funkin’ Kinda Hard on You” featuring Lamar and Ice Cube.

Clinton also touched upon Kendrick’s latest release untitled unmastered., and divulged that the first verse on “untitled 08 | 09.06.2014.” was originally intended for “Ain’t That Funkin’ Kinda Hard on You.” Plus, he looked back on the first time he heard “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe,” which he originally thought “sounded silly as hell:”

I knew “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” and thought it sounded silly as hell when I first heard it. It’s a hit record but you have to wonder, “Why the fuck is it a hit record?” But you know, after I met him and talked with him I realized it’s just his era of communication, and he had a lot of other stuff to say. He was saying things in brand new metaphors that I knew was going to fuck people up.
