Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck Documentary Gets Theatrical Release

We previously reported that HBO would air the authorized Kurt Cobain documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck on May 4. If you lack cable (or an HBO Go password), don’t fret: Brett Morgen, the film’s director, has confirmed the film’s theatrical release in a new interview with Billboard. Beginning April 10, Kurt Corbain: Montage of Heck will be screened in theaters in 72 countries, a release schedule which also makes the film eligible for Academy Award consideration. Speaking with Billboard, Morgen said that “Within 90 days, the whole world will have access to the film”. Specific theaters and showtimes have yet to be announced.
