Lana Del Rey Chats With Courtney Love, Details Sean Lennon and Weeknd Collaborations on New Album

For the April 20 issue of Dazed, Courtney Love conducted an interview with her former tourmate Lana Del Rey. During the expectedly awesome conversation, the two discussed a number of topics—ranging from their fandom of each other to Lana’s upcoming album, Lust for Life. Lana revealed another collaborator on the album: Sean Ono Lennon. She and Lennon have a song together called “Tomorrow Never Came.” It features a line that goes, “I wish we could go back to your country house and put on the radio and listen to our favorite song by Lennon and Yoko.”

“I didn’t want him to think I was asking him because I was name-checking them,” Lana explained to Love. “Actually, I had listened to his records over the years and I did think it was his vibe, so I played it for him and he liked it.” She also elaborated more about her song with the Weeknd, the album’s title track “Lust For Life”: “Maybe that’s kind of weird to have a feature on the title track, but I really love that song and we had said for a while that we were gonna do something; I did stuff on his last two records.”

Elsewhere, Love also revealed her favorite Lana song: “Blue Jeans.” Lana Del Rey has not yet announced a release date for Lust for Life, but she has shared its first single “Love,” as well as the album cover and a mysterious and witchy trailer.
