Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Trent Reznor, Patti Smith, Common, Sia Nominated for Golden Globes

The 72nd Golden Globes will be held on January 11, 2015, hosted once again by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. This morning, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees, and Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Trent Reznor, Patti Smith, Common and Sia are all up for awards in 2015. 

The tracks nominated for the award of Best Original Song, Motion Picture include Lana Del Rey’s “Big Eyes”, penned for the Tim Burton film of the same title, Lorde’s “Yellow Flicker Beat” (from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 soundtrack), Patti Smith’s “Mercy Is” (composed alongside Kronos Quartet and Clint Mansell for the Noah soundtrack), and John Legend and Common‘s “Glory”, written for the forthcoming movie Selma

Meanwhile, in the category of Best Original Score, Motion Picture, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross recieved their third Golden Globe nomination: this time for scoring David Fincher’s Gone Girl (they won the award in 2011 for composing the score to The Social Network).
