Lightning Bolt's Brian Gibson Announces Thumper Video Game

When he isn’t playing bass for Lightning Bolt, Brian Gibson also designs video games. He worked with Harmonix on games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and is also the co-founder of Drool, a game design company. Now, Gibson and Drool have announced Thumper, a “rhythm violence” video game that will be available on Playstation 4 and Steam in 2016. Check out a trailer below.

According to a synopsis, “You control a space beetle while careening towards confrontation with an insane giant head from the future.” (It looks as cool as that sounds.) The game will be showcased at the E3 Expo, which takes place June 16-18 in Los Angeles.

Lightning Bolt’s latest album, Fantasy Empire, was released in March.
