Ryan Adams performed at the Newport Folk Festival yesterday alongside the Infamous Stringdusters and Nicki Bluhm. During his bluegrass-centric set, Adams covered Black Sabbath‘s “The Wizard” and Slayer‘s “South of Heaven.” He also took a moment to improvise an entire song on-stage around the phrase “I’m frightened and I’m rabid”—hear that around the 27-minute mark of the concert recording below.
