Listen to Swans’ New Song “When Will I Return?”
On June 17, Swans will release their new album The Glowing Man (via Young God/Mute). It’s being billed as “the last album release of Swans’ current incarnation.” They have already teased the title track and shared live footage of “Cloud of Unknowing.” Now, they’ve released “When Will I Return?” from the album. Hear it below.
In a press release for The Glowing Man, Michael Gira explained:
I wrote the song “When Will I Return?” specifically for [my wife] Jennifer Gira to sing. It’s a tribute to her strength, courage, and resilience in the face of a deeply scarring experience she once endured, and that she continues to overcome daily.
