Majical Cloudz are calling it quits. The group announced its dissolution in a statement posted to their Tumblr. “Over the last few months Matt and I decided that Are You Alone? would be the last Majical Cloudz record, and that after doing some touring we would be moving on to other projects and adventures,” Devon Welsh wrote. Find their entire statement here. Before parting ways, they will play a final concert March 11 at La Sala Rossa in their native Montreal. (“There will be no opening act, we’re just going to play a long set!”)

Both members of Majical Cloudz will each pursue new projects moving forward. According to the duo’s statement, Welsh plans to release music and play shows as a solo artist, with his first releases coming this year. Meanwhile, Matt Otto will release music as the Dahlia, and is currently producing records and composing a film soundtrack.

Welsh formed Majical Cloudz with Matthew E. Duffy, and released their self-titled debut cassette in 2010. Duffy left following the release of 2011′s II, and Otto stepped in to take his place. Welsh and Otto released two albums, 2013′s Impersonator and last year’s Are You Alone?, as well as the EPs Turns Turns Turns and Wait & See.
