Mastodon Gave a Hilariously Bizarre Grammy Red Carpet Interview, With Brent Hinds in a Full L.A. Dodgers Uniform

Mastodon were nominated for Best Metal Performance at the Grammys, which means they were on hand to give a hilariously bizarre interview on the red carpet. (That’s guitarist Brent Hinds wearing a full Los Angeles Dodgers uniform, and drummer Brann Dailor in a “birthday suit.”) You can watch a video of the interview below.

Asked about what the Grammys mean to them, Dailor said: “It means… sit quietly in your seat and enjoy the beautiful sounds that come bellowing out of the Staples Center and hope that you win one of those little gold trophies, the little gold… what are those things? Gramophone! It’s a miniature gramophone! I want one of those.”

Hinds took a more philosophical appreciation of the conversation, which centered on his thoughts on Dailor’s outfit. “I just love that you’re talking to me,” he said after being complimented for his acumen as a style critic.

Mastodon ended up losing the Grammy to Tenacious D.
