Michael Stipe, Pixies, Cat Power, Blondie, Mumford & Sons, Amanda Palmer, Jherek Bischoff, Anna Calvi, Nancy Wilson (joining her sister Ann), and the Donny McCaslin Group (featuring Mark Guiliana, Jason Lindner, and Tony Visconti) have been added to the lineups for the Music of David Bowie tribute shows taking place at Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall on March 31 and April 1, respectively. They join the Roots, Laurie Anderson, the Mountain Goats, Bette Midler, Perry Farrell, and others. The celebrations of Bowie‘s music had been planned since before his passing. Find more details here.

McCaslin, Lindner, and Guiliana worked on Blackstar with Bowie, while Visconti was a longtime collaborator. Visconti is the show’s band leader and musical director.

Debbie Harry will perform solo at Carnegie Hall and with Blondie at Radio City. Palmer, Bischoff, and Calvi will perform as a trio; a few weeks ago, they released an EP of Bowie covers.

The concerts were organized by City Winery’s Michael Dorf, who has previously staged tribute concerts for Bill Withers, Prince, Bob Dylan, and others. Proceeds from the shows will benefit several organizations: Young Audiences New York, Little Kids Rock, Church Street School of Music, the Center for Arts Education, the American Symphony Orchestra, and Grammy in the Schools.
