"Nashville" Renewed for Fifth Season

"Nashville" Renewed for Fifth Season

Last month, ABC cancelled its musical drama series “Nashville,” starring Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere. The finale aired on May 25. After initial reports that the series was being pursued by other networks for a renewal, the news is now official: CMT will bring back the show for a fifth season, as Variety reports. “CMT heard the fans,” CMT president Brian Philips told Variety. “The wave of love and appreciation they have unleashed for ‘Nashville’ has been overwhelming.” The show will continue to air on Hulu, too. A premiere date for the new season—as well as news on whether the show’s cast is coming back—is forthcoming.

Revisit our farewell piece to the show, the highs and lows of season 3, and our interview with actor Chris Carmack.
