Please Kill Me 20th Anniversary Edition Announced

Legs McNeil and Gillian McCain’s Please Kill Me: The Uncensored History of Punk came out in 1996. This year, the oral history documenting New York’s punk scene is getting a 20th anniversary edition from Grove Press. It features new photos, new chapters, and a new afterword from the authors. McNeil and McCain have also announced a free, all-ages book tour of Ace Hotels—check out the dates below. McCain shared a statement about the reissue and the tour: “We figured the best way to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Please Kill Me; The Uncensored Oral History of Punk and the 40th Anniversary of the Ramones playing CBGB’s for the first time, would be to take the show on the road, touring the Ace Hotels throughout the summer, reading from the 20th Anniversary Edition, as well as telling stories, playing great tunes as guest DJ’s,and partying up a storm!”
