Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool Streaming Event Detailed

Last week, Radiohead announced a worldwide streaming event for their new album A Moon Shaped Pool. It takes place this Friday, June 17 at record stores across the globe, and “features an exclusive day long audio stream from the band, competitions, instructional artworks and more.” Radiohead later added that they “have assembled pre-recorded piped music to be played through the walls of” the various record stores. Now, one of the participating shops, Resident in the UK, has further detailed the day, as Fact points out. First, they write, there will be “an exclusive audio broadcast of material specially curated by the band as well as a very special 2-hour live set of performances from their latest tour, featuring songs from the new album & favourites from the radiohead catalogue.” There will also be original artwork from collaborator Stanley Donwood for fans to take home. Lastly, there is a raffle, which will reward five lucky winners at each store. One first prize winner will get some of the actual figurines from the “Burn the Witchvideo; two second prize winners will get screen prints of Donwood’s art for A Moon Shaped Pool; and three third prize winners will get a 35mm celluloid print of the video for “Daydreaming,” which was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. (The video has been played in 35 mm in select movie theaters recently.) See Resident’s full details here, and find a list of participating stores on Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool website.
