Sufjan Stevens to Live Score Slow-Motion Rodeo Documentary

The Brooklyn Academy of Music have announced their 2015 winter/spring season. The announcement includes an odd-looking performance from Sufjan StevensRound-Up is a slow-motion documentary featuring a score by Stevens. From January 20-25, Stevens and the Yarn/Wire quartet will live score the film at the BAM Harvey Theater in Brooklyn. Find more info here.

Footage for the film was shot at the 2013 Pendleton Round-Up in Oregon by cinematographers Aaron and Alex Craig—the same guys who filmed Stevens’ “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” video. It feature a slow-motion look at bronc and bull riding, barrel racing, calf roping, Indian relay racing, and a parade.
