The Shaggs to Play First Show in Over 15 Years

The Shaggs will reunite for their first public show since 1999 at this year’s Solid Sound Festival, the biennial event curated by Wilco, as Consequence of Sound points out. The cult favorite sister act formed in the late ‘60s at the insistence of their father. They went on to develop a devoted following for their atonal, disjointed music, despite 900 of 1000 original copies their lone LP, 1969’s outsider classic Philosophy of the World, allegedly being stolen by their producer. The album was reissued last year by Light in the Attic

Solid Sound Fstival takes place from June 23 to June 25 in North Adams, Massachusetts. Television, Kurt Vile, Kevin Morby, and Wilco are also scheduled to perform.
