The Strokes: Something Appears to Be Happening Very Soon

Julian Casablancas announced Tuesday he’ll be hosting a new monthly radio show on Sirius XM. Culture Void premieres today at 10 a.m. Eastern. As rumors swirl that Casablancas will air new Strokes music on the show, Strokes billboards have appeared in London and New York. On them, a figure runs as the words “Future,” “Present,” and “Past” appear on screen. Check them out below. Cult Records, Casablancas’ label, which posted one of the billboard videos, has also updated its site to include the Strokes’ logo and the hashtag #FuturePresentPast. Update (10:18 a.m.): As Culture Void opened, Casablancas said he’ll debut “Oblivious,” a new Strokes song, later in the show. He also said it’s from a new Strokes EP.

The Strokes had already teased new music ahead of their upcoming appearance at Governors Ball. “You’ll just have to wait and see,” Albert Hammond Jr. told a fan on Twitter when asked if the band would play unreleased material. Their headlining set takes place June 3. The band’s last album was 2013′s Comedown Machine.
