Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig Chats With iLoveMakonnen and Jonah Hill on Beats 1

In recent weeks, Ezra Koenig‘s Beats 1 radio show has broadcast live from Los Angeles. This past weekend, “Time Crisis” returned to New York with guest hosts Despot and Koenig’s cousin Asher. The episode featured what Koenig called the “historic” meeting between iLoveMakonnen and Jonah Hill. Listen above.

Hill and Makonnen talked about how much they admired each other’s work. They also bonded over their mutual appreciation for A$AP Rocky’s latest record. Hill appears at the 1:08:25 mark, and Makonnen shows up at the 1:41:30 mark.

Koenig and Despot both appeared on a remix of iLoveMakonnen’s “Down 4 So Long”, which Makonnen referred to as “the inferior remix.” During the episode, Hill offered to direct the song’s music video.
