Watch Jimmy Kimmel’s New HBO Parody “Kanye Westworld”

Westworld” is an upcoming HBO sci-fi series about a futuristic theme park. Ahead of its premiere on Sunday, October 2, Jimmy Kimmel parodied the show on last night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” He turned the show into “Kanye Westworld,” splicing in clips from West’s hourlong, tearful interview with Zane Lowe from 2013. Watch Kimmel’s spoof below.

West’s Zane Lowe interview is notable to both the rapper and Kimmel. Following the interview, Kimmel had a child recreate many of West’s answers in a sketch. Kimmel said on air, “He said he’s the number one rockstar on the planet, whatever planet he’s on.” He also asked, “Does Kanye West know you’re not supposed to be your own hype man? Is it a money-saving thing?”

West did not take kindly to Kimmel’s sketch. In response, he lashed out on Twitter against the TV host. He wrote (in all-caps), “Jimmy Kimmel is out of line to try and spoof in any way the first piece of honest media in years.” In the tirade, he also called Kimmel a “manipulative media mutherfucker,” and said that his ex-girlfriend and fellow comedian “Sarah Silerman is a thousand times funnier than [him] and the whole world knows it!!!”

Shortly after West’s response, Kimmel invited him on his show. They discussed the incident, and Kimmel gave West a pair of baby-sized leather jogging pants (a point of contention at the time) for North.

Earlier this year, Kimmel parodied West’s “Famous” video.
