Watch MF Doom Pay Respect to J Dilla on Dilla’s Birthday
Today marks what would have been the 43rd birthday of James Dewitt Yancey, better known to the world as the influential hip-hop producer J Dilla, who passed away in 2006. To pay tribute, the elusive MF DOOM has shared a new video, taken on a boat, where he observes a moment of silence for his friend and former collaborator. DOOM and Dilla linked up with Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah in 2005 and recorded together. Those recordings were eventually released as an EP titled Sniperlite under the name Dilla Ghost DOOM in 2008.
