Watch Pharrell Introduce Bernie Sanders at Hillary Clinton Rally

Yesterday, Pharrell joined Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders at a campaign rally in Raleigh, North Carolina. The trio reportedly made their way to the stage to the sounds of Pharrell’s “Happy” from his 2014 album G I R L. Before Sanders spoke, Pharrell delivered a speech that defended Clinton’s qualifications and policy positions. “I’m here ’cause I believe she’s here to fight for us. Don’t you?” he said. “It makes me angry when people say she can’t lead our country because she’s a woman. How dare anyone question a woman’s ability. Every person on this planet was brought into this world by a woman.” Elsewhere in his speech, Pharrell discussed Clinton’s stance on minimum sentencing reform, mass incarceration, pay equality, and more. Watch Pharrell’s speech below.

Later today, Jay Z and Beyoncé will perform in Ohio for a Get Out the Vote event in support of Hillary Clinton. Next week, Chance the Rapper will host a free rooftop party in Chicago to encourage the city’s youth vote. Arcade Fire’s Win Butler will play a Jam the Vote alongside the Roots’ Questlove and others. Election Day is on November 8. Find Pitchfork’s past coverage of the election here.
