Watch Talking Heads’ Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth React to Fred Armisen and Bill Hader’s Parody Band

Gizmodo has shared a clip of Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads reacting to Fred Armisen and Bill Hader’s Talking Heads parody band. In the video, the two members watch Armisen and Hader satirize the 1984 Talking Heads documentary Stop Making Sense in a “Documentary Now!” episode titled “Final Transmission.”

Upon hearing Armisen’s singing, Frantz remarks, “these lyrics are better than David Byrne’s.” When Weymouth sees Maya Rudolph’s depiction of her, she recalls the time U2 bassist Adam Clayton said “her arms had too many muscles for a girl.” As for her thoughts on the parody, she says, “It’s supremely silly. And I can’t imagine spending all this time and money to make something like this, but I’m enjoying it nonetheless, as a secret pleasure. I shouldn’t be enjoying it so much, but I am.” Watch that below.

The “Final Tranmission” episode of “Documentary Now!” airs Wednesday, October 12 at 10 p.m. on IFC. Watch a clip from the episode here.
