Woman Missing After Going Overboard on Mad Decent Boat Party

A woman has gone overboard at the Mad Decent Boat Party, a cruise ship festival going on now, sailing between Miami and Cozumel. A search is currently under way. This morning, the festival released a statement, which you can read below.

Thursday, November 12 during the chartered cruise on Norwegian Pearl, a female guest was observed intentionally going overboard while the ship was sailing the Yucatan Channel. The ship’s crew immediately initiated rescue measures, including deploying three rescue boats and notifying the Coast Guard and other relevant authorities. The search for the guest is ongoing. Both the ship and charter company teams are providing support to the family and all impacted guests during this difficult time.

Artists performing on the cruise include Mad Decent label head Diplo, Skrillex, A-Trak, Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus, Boregore, iLoveMakonnen, Lunice, MØ, and more.

Update: The Mad Decent Boat Party posted this statement on Facebook:

We are deeply saddened by the news that one of our guests on our current cruise went overboard on November 12. The Coast Guard is now leading all search and rescue efforts and the ship is enroute back to Miami. The safety and security of our guests and the ship’s crew is our number one priority, all appropriate safety precautions will continue to be taken for this and all of our events. Our hearts go out to the family and all involved in this incident, and we will continue to support those affected during this difficult time.
