Wu-Tang Clan / Martin Shkreli / Bill Murray Musical in the Works

Last year, pharmaceutical CEO Martin Shkreli, who became publicly reviled after raising the price of a vital AIDS and cancer treatment drug by more than 5,000 per cent, paid $2 million for the one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin. Months later, a bizarre hoax made the rounds alleging that, per a clause in the sale contract, active Wu-Tang members were entitled to team up with actor Bill Murray and execute a “heist or caper” to win back the album. The fake clause captured the public imagination, so much so that a team of theater producers is turning the prospective heist into a musical, as Fact points out. Written by Lauren Gundrum and Joel Esher, Martin Shkreli’s Game has a spot at Midtown International Festival. It is now seeking funding—check out the IndieGogo page here, and see their trailer below.
