Young Thug Releases Slime Season 3
Young Thug has released his new mixtape Slime Season 3. It’s the follow-up to last September’s Slime Season mixtape and November’s Slime Season 2. The project includes “Digits,” which premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, and “Problem,” which premiered on Ebro Darden’s Beats 1 show. It’s also got “With Them,” which Kanye West premiered at his Yeezy Season 3 event at Madison Square Garden in February. Listen to the whole thing here on Apple Music. SS3 is Thug’s second record of 2016, following February’s I’m Up. He will head out on the Hy!£UN35 Tour in May. Find those dates and watch the tour trailer below.
Update (3/25, 4:21 p.m.): Young Thug shared a eulogy for Slime Season over on his Year of the Thug website. He detailed the tribulations associated with the series—stolen records, lost money, confused fans—and signalled the end of the saga with a cartoon image of a tombstone, marked “S.S 2015-2016.” He concluded by shifting his focus to his long-in-the-works debut album: “This is the birth of something new…HY!£UN35,” he wrote. Update (3/25, 5:05 p.m.): According to Thug, the current version of “Digits” included on the tape is “the wrong song.” The rapper tweeted that the “real” version will feature Meek Mill, instructing listeners to “stay tuned.”
