Jean-Michel Jarre Teams With M83 on "Glory"

French electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre is working on a new album featuring a variety of collaborators. Today, he has released a track with M83‘s Anthony Gonzalez, titled “Glory”. Stream it below, via Spotify.

In a press release, Gonzalez talked about watching Jarre—whose breakthrough album, Oxygéne, was released in 1976—on television as a child. “He was playing with his synths and I was blown away with the sound and the look of his synthesizers,” he said. “It looked so futuristic to me, I was just hooked by the melodies and the power of his music right away.”

For the as-yet-untitled album, Jarre also collaborated with Gesaffelstein on “Conquistador“, Massive Attack‘s 3D on “Watching You”, and Tangerine Dream on “Zero Gravity”. (The latter was recorded before the death of founder Edgar Froese.) Those tracks will be released on three vinyl EPs ahead of the album, on June 19 in limited editions of 100 via the Vinyl Factory. Preview all of them on Jarre’s Soundcloud.
