Joanna Newsom has announced Divers, her first album since 2010′s Have One on Me. It’s out October 23 via Drag City. She’s also shared the video for first single “Sapokanikan”, in which she sings while walking through New York City. The video was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who directed Newsom in Inherent Vice. Check it out below, as well as the album’s tracklist.

A product listing for the album on Drag City’s website reads:

…further along and down the road apiece from where she took her leave of us, Joanna Newsom plays on. Breathe deep and equalize your today-ears to the new world of Divers

Last year, Newsom said she was working on new music. (Two unreleased songs made their way to concerts: “Look and Despair” and “The Diver’s Wife”. Neither is explicitly included on Divers‘ tracklist.) Most recently, she appeared in and narrated Inherent Vice

Divers features arrangements from Newsom, Nico Muhly, Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth, and Ryan Francesconi. It was recorded by Steve Albini and Noah Georgeson. Check out the album art below.
