Listen to Angel Olsen Dissect “Shut Up Kiss Me” on “Song Exploder”

Angel Olsen was a recent guest on the “Song Exploder” podcast, where she discussed how she made My Woman’s “Shut Up Kiss Me.” She revealed that the piano sections in the song were “a nod” to David Bowie’s “Changes.” She also talked about an injury she sustained during rehearsals (according to her doctor she was playing the guitar the wrong way), the song’s “tongue in cheek” lyrics, her initial desire for “Shut Up Kiss Me” to be more “50s and relaxed,” and more.
