Puff Daddy Makes Surprise Appearance on "The Chris Gethard Show," Yells at Zach Galifianakis

The Chris Gethard Show,” the public access-turned-Fusion freeform chat show, has kept a long-standing open invitation for Sean Combs to appear on the show. Chris Gethard was so serious about having Combs on his show that he mailed the mogul a special key that only he could use, which would unlock his very own entrance to the set: the Diddy Door. On last night’s show, the Diddy Door was finally unlocked—Puff Daddy literally appeared in a puff of smoke. As he walked out on the set, he saw the show’s audience sitting on the floor. “Where are the chairs at,” he asked. At one point, Zach Galifianakis called in and got into a yelling argument with Puff. It’s ridiculous. Watch it happen below.

Gethard talked to Noisey about how “TCGS” got in contact with Combs. He revealed that a previous episode almost featured Puff Daddy walking through the Diddy Door, but the timing didn’t work out.

If you watch any episode last year, you’ll see that we have the Diddy Door. That’s because we reached out to his people and said, “Let’s have Diddy back on the show.” And they said, “Well, as you know from past dealings, he is extremely hard to pin down.” So we said, “He’s a legacy and part of the show. What can we do to honor that and make him feel that he’s welcome back at any time? If we built a door that only Diddy could use, do you think he would enjoy that?” And they said, “Yeah, we think he’d enjoy that very much.” So it’s totally legit that for the past two years, either he or, I assume one of his assistants, has kept a key that we sent to him.

In late 2014, when it was still a public access show, Sleater-Kinney appeared on “The Chris Gethard Show.”
