Rock Hall 2017: Yes’ Rick Wakeman Tells a Bunch of Dirty Jokes in Induction Speech

Last night, prog rock icons Yes were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It was a big night for the band and their fans as frontman Jon Anderson reunited with Yes for a performance at the ceremony. (It was Anderson’s first performance with Yes in over a decade.) When Rick Wakeman took the mic for an acceptance speech, he used the opportunity to deliver a stand-up routine. He told a joke about his dad telling him not to go to a strip club. “I remember he sat me down once, he said, ‘Son, don’t go to any of those really cheap, dirty, nasty, sleazy strip clubs because if you do, you’ll see something you shouldn’t.’ So of course I went, and I saw my dad.” He also told jokes about getting a prostate exam. Again, this happened at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Watch the band’s speech below with Wakeman’s section starting at the seven-minute mark.
