Sleater-Kinney Possibly Releasing New Music, Box Set Includes Mysterious 7"
Next week, Sleater-Kinney will released Start Together, a new box set that collects the band’s entire discography. But it apparently includes something else, too: According to reports, the box set comes with a mysterious unmarked white 7″, with the date 1/20/15 written on top. That’s a picture of it, above. It’s signed by the band’s three members, Carrie Brownstein, Corin Tucker, and Janet Weiss.
Wondering Sound reports that the new song is titled either “Bury Our Friends” or “No Cities to Love”. Update: Stereogum has a clip of the song, which they say is titled “Bury Our Friends”:
The band’s last release was 2005′s The Woods, after which they broke up. Since then, Brownstein and Weiss played together in Wild Flag, while Tucker embarked on a solo career. Brownstein has been successful as an actress and writer, and co-created and co-stars in the TV show “Portlandia” with Fred Armisen.
