Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker Plays Australian Protest Concert

Roe 8 is a planned Australian highway extension, intended to reduce traffic congestion in Perth’s southern suburbs. Construction began last month following government approval, but the road has been met with heavy opposition, as many believe that it is economically and environmentally harmful. Demonstrations have taken place, including a protest concert called LIVE! In the Wetlands, which occurred earlier this week. Among those performing was Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker, using the moniker DJ Defs Worth It. Other acts included Koi Child (whose debut LP was produced by Parker) and Donna Simpson of the Waifs.
