The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney Talks “Bojack Horseman” Theme on “Song Exploder”: Listen

The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney and his uncle Ralph, who together recorded the theme song for Netflix series Bojack Horseman, have discussed the song on Hrishikesh Hirway’s “Song Exploder,” the podcast where artists break down their songs and how they’re made. Ralph Carney is a multi-instrumentalist whose résumé includes work with Tom Waits, St. Vincent, and more. On the podcast, the pair discuss working together as uncle and nephew, then deconstruct the song’s layers, before airing the four-and-a-half minute original recording in full. The show’s executive producer Noel Bright also called in to discuss why he chose to enlist the Carneys. Listen below.
